Steps to Complete ATP Training Before Program Sunset

Thank you for visiting ACSA's ATP home page.  We hope that the information you find here is useful and of service to you.

The following guidance is offered to assist prospective ATP participants in understanding what is in involved in completing the ATP to clear Tier II administrative services credential requirements before the Program sunsets:

I.  Select SBE-Approved ATP Training Provider(s) (by participant)

Go to the statewide list of SBE-approved ATP providers. The list includes the State Board of Education approved training providers, ATP modules they offer, and contact information (to follow-up on training schedules, fees, registration, etc.).  Some but not all training providers offer all three modules so it is permissible to take training from one or more training providers.  For example, participants who took Modules 2 and 3 from ACSA, took Module 1 from another SBE-approved training provider.  It is also permissible to take the modules in any order.

II.  Registration on MSfAT Web Site (by district)

The school district's or LEA's ATP coordinator, is permitted to register participants on the Management System for Administrator Training (MSfAT).  There is contact information on the MSfAT home page for CDE staff who can assist with this process.  All ATP participants need to be registered on the MSfAT so that:

  • training providers can log completed Institute (class time) and Practicum (follow-up) hours
  • participants can take the mandatory online Administrator Survey after completing the requirements for all three modules
  • ATP coordinators can download the Certificate of Completion (COC) for each module (participants are responsible for submitting COCs to the CTC as part of the application materials for the Tier II administrative services credential)

III.  Funding Sources for Training

The final state Title II funding grants for ATP training have been awarded.  ATP training may be paid for with site or district/LEA funds or from personal funds by participants.

IV.  Timeline for Completion of Training

  • This is the last two-year cycle of the ATP.  By June 30, 2013 all training requirements (Institute - 80 hours - and Practicum - 80 hours) of the ATP must be completed.
  • By September 1, 2013 -
    • all completed training hours (Institute and Practicum) must be logged on the MSfAT (by training providers)
    • the online Administrator Training Survey must be completed (by participants)
    • all Certificates of Completion need to be downloaded (by school districts/LEAs)
  • By April 1, 2014, all Tier II administrative credential applications that include ATP Certificates of Completion must be submitted to the CTC.  ATP Certificates of Completion will not be accepted as part of Tier II credential application documentation by the CTC after April 1, 2014.
