CALSA Mentoring

ACSA Salutes CALSA for its Powerful Mentoring Program

The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA) offer mentoring programs to members. CALSA has provided a mentoring program for many years. CALSA Mentoring, based on the work of its pioneering creator, Dr. Kenneth Magdaleno, "is designed to provide professional development and networking opportunities to educational administrators interested in ‘growing as leaders.’" (from CALSA Administrator Mentoring Handbook, 2009-10, Copyright: Magdaleno Mentoring and Coaching.) CALSA Mentoring supports the development of the "next generation of educational leaders, improves leadership skills, enhances career development, promotes diversity and equity, and provides ongoing long-term support." (from the CALSA website).

The ACSA Mentoring program is a new member service. ACSA Mentoring is designed to provide an informal professional support service focused on the operational, technical and managerial aspects of one’s current job in educational leadership. ACSA’s goal is to provide, through its regions, the ability for all ACSA members to have a voluntary connection to a mentor who has served in the member’s current leadership position. ACSA Mentoring strives to foster a sense of belonging to the larger community of ACSA membership.
